Five stars isn't enough. Luciana was amazing. Not only did she do a wonderful job taking care of our cat, but she kept us updated every single day with lots of pictures and detailed updates. It made our trip SO much more relaxing to know that the cat was happy. Our cat is usually very anxious and shy around strangers, but He LOVED Luciana and so did we!

It's quite a leap of faith giving a stranger the keys to your home, let alone the responsibility for your beloved pet. But from the initial contact, Meylin was kind, professional and attentive. She took care of our shy cat for a week and regularly updated us with pictures, videos and messages. We are confident that all our cat's needs were met, and more.

This was my first time using a cat sitter and I feel very lucky that I got Isha. Charlie is a rescue cat, and kennels were just not working out for her, so this was the perfect solution. Getting daily pictures, and coming back to a happy cat means that I will definitely contact Isha again when I go away. She's clearly a massive cat lover, so I can't recommend her enough.

The best review I can leave is that when we got home we felt that Avon and Marlo felt like they had been loved whilst we were away. They were calm, sociable and very happy when we all got together again. The level of communication was brilliant - lots of pictures on Whatsapp. We were just extremely happy with Dani - her care and her attitude were exceptional.

Heather was awesome whilst we were away over Christmas, returned home to find Flea very relaxed and content. Great communication from the start, really friendly and sent us lots of nice photos. Would definitely recommend her and will be in touch for future trips!

Some cats need more attention than others, especially young kittens, elderly cats and kitties who need medication. For these cats, an over-night sitter can be a better solution than a daily visitor while you are away. Holiday cat feeders are also a great alternative to a cattery: cats can stay happy in the comfort of their own home.
You will have the reassurance that a cat-loving carer will be at your furry friend’s side from evening to morning. An over-night cat sitter also provides peace of mind that your property isn’t left empty for long periods of time.
All of our vetted and trusted carers go beyond feeding your cat and changing the litter tray. Playing and socialising with your cat is just as important, as is sending you daily updates and photographs.
Cat in a Flat cat minder offer a range of tailored at-home cat care options depending on your kitty’s needs. Search our community to find the best local cat carers experienced in administering medication, and even doing injections. Many will also be happy to water your plants and pick up the post.
Cat Sitting Advice - FAQs
How to prepare for a overnight cat sitter
Will my cat be ok with a cat sitter?
Cat in a Flat has years of experience in running a cat-sitting community. We know that the vast majority of cats are more than ok with a cat sitter; they enjoy the experience and attention. We also know how important it is to provide cover and reassurance if something goes wrong while you’re away. That is why cat sitters are covered with our Cat in a Flat Guarantee. Cat sitting is a safe, reliable and trustworthy service providing love and care for your cat while you’re away. It’s a great alternative to cat boarding or a cattery.
What should I expect from a home visit or overnight cat sitting service?
Daily in-home cat sitting services can start from £/€ 8 per visit and should last 20-40 minutes. This allows your kitty to get fresh food & water, a cleared litter tray, lots of affection and a chance to play. You can also look forward to reassuring daily updates and photographs of your cat while you’re away.
An overnight cat sitter will do all of the above and also spend the night at your property. An overnight sitter provides more company and attention for your cat. They also make your property looked lived in, which is better for home security. They are ideal for very young kittens that are still in their socialisation phase or older cats that might need time specific medications.
Avoid the stress of a cattery and return home to happy, relaxed kitties enjoying the comforts of their own home.
